Remember that you cannot loot the bodies of defeated opponents, nor can you pick up any weapons or equipment that they may drop. An interesting note here is that the "no looting" policy applies to your AI opponents as well. If your combat skill has reached journeyman rank, you will have the ability to disarm your opponent forcing him to fight hand-to-hand for the duration of the match since he cannot pick up any weapons, even his own. Return through the now open gate to the Red Room, then go speak to Owyn.
Owyn will pay you for each match that you win. This can be a good source of income for lower level players since the opponents are leveled, but the pay is not. You will start out receiving 50 Gold per match. The amount you receive per match will increase as you increase in rank and top out at Gold per match.
If you're the gambling sort, you can speak to Hundolin outside the door to the Bloodworks and bet on matches. For the enterprising thieves among you, it's worth noting that the chest next to Hundolin contains Gold, and will replenish after a time if you manage to steal it.
There are nine ranks ranging from Pit Dog all the way up to Grand Champion. For every three matches that you win, you will earn a rank promotion from Owyn. Your opponents will vary from humans, elves and orcs, to monsters and wild beasts.
The matches you will face as you advance are listed below, followed by the achievement you will unlock by speaking to Owyn after winning the third match:. Brawler, Arena Reached Brawler rank in the Arena. Bloodletter, Arena Reached Bloodletter rank in the Arena.
Myrmidon, Arena Reached Myrmidon rank in the Arena. Warrior, Arena Reached Warrior rank in the Arena. Gladiator, Arena Reached Gladiator rank in the Arena. Hero, Arena Reached Hero rank in the Arena. After attaining Hero rank, you will enter into the championship rounds of the Arena. The next two matches will be normal Arena matches, and the third match will pit you against the Yellow Team Champion and two other Yellow Team fighters at the same time.
You will have the assistance of Porkchop, the Blue Team Boar. Try to avoid hitting Porkchop during the match or he will turn hostile and attack you. You will get the message: "You have been disqualified, and must return to Owyn in the Bloodworks! Do not disgrace yourself any further Your enemies and their equipment are leveled. A detailed description of the gear used by Arena opponents can be found at the Arena Combatants page.
Once you challenge Agronak for the title of Grand Champion, Ysabel will tell you that you need an Arena name; something that, as she puts it, "the people of Cyrodiil will remember when they tell stories about your inglorious defeat! After a well deserved congratulations, she will talk about arranging weekly fights against varying creatures. You may choose between three different options of creatures to fight, once per week.
The actual amount is somewhat random as it is taken from a leveled list, thus at level 30 you can get anywhere between 40 and 1, gold although higher values are more likely.
The gold is calculated for each creature you fight, so the maximum reward that can ever be obtained is 4, gold. If the amount of gold you are paid per Grand Champion matches starts to decrease, try waiting in-game for two weeks instead of one between fights. This will up the amount of gold you will receive for your next fight, possibly even up to the 4, gp max.
Details on the creatures that may be fought can be found here. This is a list of all registered Arena members in Cyrodiil. You may encounter several past members of the Arena around Cyrodiil. I like Hard games Because you were only a level two character all of your opponents were level two or equivilent.
The game actualy tends to get harder as you level up becuase once your combat based skills max out all you have left to level are the ones that have no affect on your fighting.
If you were level 50 when you entered the arena you probably would have been massacred. Oblivion is the wind beneath my bosom, alas its leveling and scaling are flawed to the point of broken. Things will get harder instead of getting easier as you would think. The worst part of this is leveled loot though. Whats the point of getting a level 4 Shadowhunt if your focusing on stealthy arching?
With this In mind, I actually grind to level 25 or 30 and stop leveling before I even take a quest or pick loot I want for my role-play. User Info: CaIiber During the Arena questline, you cannot loot your opponents. THEN you can loot their corpses. You can't loot or take things of corpses until you destroy the Grand Champion of the arena. Afterwards you can, but it is irritating seeing something you can't have!
You might be able to paralyze and then try nicking a few things though! What's your XBox Live Gamertag? More topics from this board What are these symbols in the inventory menu? General 2 Answers Best way to level up???
