Hell they've even did a horrible thing and stick it in Tomb Raider. Many, many, many, many game developers have proven this theory otherwise a thousand times over They already know their budgets, therefore no excuse. They can clearly do BOTH equally as it's been shown before many times..
GG Crytek Bottom line, literally. Crytek is HUGE, no excuse. Five hours for one reviewer isn't indicative that it will be 5 hours for everyone. Yes and I'm one of those people. I like to take my time and not rush through the game. Especially, if there is stuff to collect then I try to search every nook and cranny. Even then, I still miss stuff and have to go through it again for the trophies of course I really don't see the point in rushing through games because you can miss stuff and are not getting the full experience the developer envisioned.
I just like to take my time and just take everything in and feel like I got my money's worth. Unfortunately, I'm on a budget and won't pick this up on launch so I'll definitely feel like I got my money's worth when it's cheaper. That's a win in my book. I dont rush either but this is absurd. Am i the only one that feels crysis 3 was kinda rushed to get out before gen cycle ended.
It actually looks alot like what crysis 2 should have and at 5 hrs and limited improvemwnts other than polish and pc upgrade is more like an expansion. Honestly i wish games like crysis, cod, battlefield would just do multiplayer. Or go free to play for multiplayer with big updates. The model is changing completely. I cant wait to see the numbers on DS3, Aliens, Crysis 3 and metal gear rising. Personalky, i think MGR will do the best because it is different but i dont think these games will sell like they once did.
Crysis' main component has always been the SP. The campaign isn't 5 hours, multiple people on Crydev confirmed the length to be hours.
On a higher difficulty, without rushing, 10 hours sounds reasonable. Yeah, I call BS on this. But is that the way you should play a game? Especially a game like Crysis which has such a heavy stealth element. And like you said, eye candy. I'll bet this game takes over ten hours for me. It took me 2 years to finish Darksiders.
Then just a couple month before Darksiders 2 came out I replayed the first one and actually finished it. The pattern is repeating itself with Darksiders 2 now. Multiplayer is a top priority for many of these types of games, but that shouldn't mean the single player aspect takes a back seat Especially if the single player campaigns are 5 hrs long? I don't think it will be 5 hours. I just don't see them cutting down hours down to 5. Including side missions. Yeah, me and my friends want to grab this.
However, we can't justify the price. Games are too expensive to just simply go out and buy for the sake of it. MP is a huge aspect, but quality should be applied across all sectors. On the other hand, everyone plays games differently. So I would use that as an average, rather than an accurate means of measurement.
I see what your saying mochachino, but crysis franchise should only be play on PC. Then you won't get that blurry, choppy, screen tearing effect.
But if you take a step back and think about this then A the magazine had a deadline as it needed to go to print and was the first review, meaning the reviewer was most likely pressed for time. B when crysis 2 was released some reviewers claimed it was 6 hours long, which turned out to be not true for the majority of players although some finished in 4 hours, but others finished In 15 , this seems to show that there is quite a lot of variation in play styles that can affect time.
The only way we will really know for sure is when more reviews are up. Crysis has been crap since the second, open your eyes cayse this isn't anything to write home about ether.
Hell ya man, It's most likely going for next gen consoles. I see all this crysis hate on n4g but why? I hear most of you saying all crytek does is just focus on graphics and the gameplay is crap. I question if these people have actually played a crysis game I mean compare crysis to its genre..
You get something in between, a mixture of all three. For what it is the gameplay is far from crap and the story and length? You can't really skim through this game like you could in Crysis 2 and the game encourages and dare I say almost forces you to explore every nook and cranny for ammo and really taking your time with clearing enemies by being stealthy with the bow. I haven't even died a whole lot maybe a couple of times in the first mission and this game is still taking me longer to beat than I thought it would.
I'd say it's about on par with the original Crysis in terms of length but it's not even half as long as Crysis 2, although that game almost felt ridiculously long even for a FPS. Everyone complains that this game is too short but I don't think so because the missions are really drawn out compared to the ones in Crysis 2.
It feels about average for me and that's just fine. User Info: specialkid8. It really varies. Apparently some people have beat it in under 4 hours, but if you take your time and have fun and explore and stuff you can get at least 7 hours out of it, plus the replay you will inevitably want to do. User Info: jarod For me, taking my time and exploring looking for data and stuff, about hours.
User Info: redhotpeppers. It took me just over 4 hours on normal. More topics from this board How do I hack the first door in cycsis 3? It is a non-disclosure agreement I had to sign to get an early copy of Crysis 3, and outlines story spoilers — don't mention that Captain Steakbrain dies in the first chapter or we'll have your house, that kind of thing. But Crysis 3's story is so terribly forgettable that, re-reading this list a few hours after finishing the game, I can barely remember most of it happening.
Or want to. There's a lot of competition for awful FPS storylines, but Crysis 3 takes the gold at a canter. Luckily the real star doesn't have a single line: Crysis 3's campaign is all about a long-destroyed and now overgrown New York, a jungle-fied take on Crysis 2's setting. Twenty years after the previous game the destroyed shells of skyscrapers and shops are slowly being recovered by nature, with skittish deer ducking in and around the rusting husks of vehicles.
This brings back a key element from the original Crysis: lots of long, concealing grass and scrubland. So Crysis 3 has a bit of both its predecessors; the tightly-scripted funnelling of Crysis 2's story, but the original's more open and experimental style of combat. You typically approach fights from a distance, or at least a vantage point, and a neat tactical visor can be used to "tag" enemies and objects of interest before moving in.
In combat terms Crysis 3 could fairly be called a Predator simulator, a point driven home by the new bow weapon which kills silently, can be fired while cloaked, and has multiple arrow types. In combination with the Nanosuit, the bow makes main character Prophet an apex hunter in a world full of prey. The suit's two main abilities, both dependent on a recharging pool of energy, are armour and cloaking. The first makes head-on combat possible against even overwhelming odds, while the second is a multi-purpose delight — letting you sneak by patrols, escape when cornered, and silently thin out the opposition.
Cloaking drains energy faster when you're moving, a beautifully-tuned system that forces you to be slow and deliberate or quick and efficient — with any lapses leaving Prophet exposed in no man's land. Stay hidden and take out enemies via the scenic route and the intricate environments of Crysis 3 come to some kind of life.
