What do visions mean in the bible

Thank you in advance for responding. In Trance the natural senses are suspended and the person becomes fully conscious of the realm of the spirit. Whereas Open vision would be as though a screen is played for you. We can say Ezekiel was in a trance. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. Now to the three types of visions that there are; We have 1. Inner vision 2. Open vision 3. Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?

You will just notice that an image or picture will form within your spirit or an occurrence played like a movie would flash across your consciousness. It seems as though what is shown to you is placed in front of you. At times, it looks as though the vision is projected in front of you. Let me explain: when a man has an open vision of an angel like in Acts 10, he will see the angel in relation to his own physical surrounding so his natural senses are not suspended, he is aware of where he is but still sees into the spirit realm Trance: This is the highest kind of the three in that the natural senses are suspended.

We see an example of this in 2 Corinthians and Acts What happens in a trance is basically that the consciousness of your physical surrounding disappears and you are fully conscious of the realm of the spirit. In this type of vision, if a man sees an angel for example, he will see the angel in relation to the realm of the spirit and not the physical.

Remember that the moment you received the Holy Spirit into your life, all the nine gifts are resident in you. If you have the Spirit, you have the gifts. Johnson Oluwaseyi 20 Jan Reply. What about prophecy and dreams , can you express it in details as well.

I have never had a vision but I have had many dreams but these dreams of mine often make no sense and where they are not in agreement with Scriptures, I just take them for what they are; random occurrences that have no true meaning or purpose.

In Philippians , Paul describes the goal he had to gain Christ no matter the cost, to share in the sufferings of Jesus, and to obtain the resurrection from the dead. But then in the following Bible verses of Philippians , Paul added:. Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Let those of us who are mature think this way. When God is giving you a vision, he will also provide you with the supernatural determination to work towards that vision. To balance out the last point, while we will certainly need an abundance of energy from the Holy Spirit to actually do the work necessary to make this dream a reality, we must also submit to the truth that there will also be certain doors in life that we cannot open no matter how hard we work.

Nothing meaningful in life can ever be accomplished by just one person. There will always be mentors along the way, supporters helping out when they can, and people who are receptive to the ideas we are presenting. Because of this, we must submit to the reality that God will have to open certain doors for us along the way if he is truly leading us towards a certain vision for the future. If those needed doors are opening, this is a sign God is showing you this vision really is from him.

As Paul said in Colossians
